ambulances. and there appears to be a dog, a k-9 unit on the scene and maybe a bomb squad, a truck with a cover. what we know now there is one confirmed suspicious package and a second they are looking into. the first package, they do not know how much fizzled compared to yesterday. shepard: have authorities saiding in about what they have done in and around there? v street is shut down. reporter: come bloatly shut completely shut down a football field away from where the location of the packages would be. and they are pushing traffic away from that area and they are pushing back media. we have been pushed back, as well. shepard: the who will area was on kind of a heightened alert especially dealing with packages, right? reporter: i believe that all of the washington, dc area, the

and no such action as far as we are aware was taken in the washington, dc metro area. and now we understand that this package that has ignited in some manner, according to washington, dc police, was in a government mailroom, a government distribution center. so, obviously, as we pointed out yesterday, the officials across maryland, across the washington, dc area, will be very, very concerned about more of the packages. we don t know, obviously, at this stage, if it is linked but as soon as we hear from officials on the scene we will know. obviously they will be looking to see if it is the same kind of packages. that paperback book sized package, the same package and same return address, and stamps which was a washington, dc, parking garage, they will be looking for all of those kind of lynches in the links. shepard: they tied the ones yesterday to a guy that did not
family is thankful for all the personal expressions of sympathy and condole ends received from so many whose lives were touched by jack in such positive ways. we have some news that his body is now moved to a funeral home so they could be prepared for the funeral. shepard: thank you from newcastle, delaware. thank you. and now the senator for 13-year-old girl missing now for more than a week. her mother, now, says that both she and her boyfriend failed pole grandfather polygraph tests. according to reports the mom s boyfriend says the young girl went to a sleep over but never came home. her mother s boyfriend was the last person known to see her. but, now, investigators say that she never made it to her friend s house for the sleepover at all. and that her friend didn t know she was coming over. she says they didn t have any plans. at all. investigators didn t release an amber alert because they didn t
offices yesterday. shepard: there is the postal facility where this happened. more on yesterday s problem, whoever did this yesterday, and we do not know if it is connected to today s has been described by police as a lone wolf, sort of actor, and that is from the government and the transportation department. you will remember there was a note with the two packages found yesterday, it was my understanding a note in each package that read reports of suspicious activity, total bull, you have created a self-fulfilling prophecy. they got the two, one sent to the governor and another to the department of transportation, and they shut down all the mailrooms and there were a couple of false positives, a couple of scary times but nothing else weird happened and now fast forward a day, a package has detonated at a federal mail distribution in washington, dc and the police and bomb squad are on the way and we should know in a few
