Mumbai witnesses rise in Covid-19 vaccination volunteers
BMC has allowed those registered for vaccination to opt for Covaxin.

On Friday, Mumbai witnessed the highest number of takers for Bharat Biotech’s Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin. JJ Hospital in Byculla which was consistently witnessing poor response saw a surge with 41 people coming to take the vaccine. Out of these, almost 30 were doctors who took Covaxin even though they were listed for Covidshield. Increasingly, doctors are more confident about Covaxin, which uses an inactivated virus that could tackle mutated strains.
BMC has allowed those registered for vaccination to opt for Covaxin. The civic body may add another centre in the suburbs of Mumbai if there was more demand for Covaxin.
