Washington and WMU Boys Win Team Titles at Ekstrand

One of the biggest Southeast Iowa track meets of the year saw a few area track teams bring home a title last night at the Ekstrand Relays in Wayland. The Washington boys claimed their first team title of the year by winning the A division with 177 points and running away from second place Mediapolis with 112. The throwing events is where the Demons feasted with Brayden Hartman winning the shot put (49’11’’) and Reece Mayer took home the discus crown with a personal best throw of 149’11 while fellow senior Kael Adam was second (133’3’’). Mayer tells KCII Sports everything was clicking for him. “I felt strong in warmups, had the wind at my back, and it really carried over to my first throw. Getting first place today is helping my confidence as we get set for conference and districts.
