Tomorrow morning at 1:30am (UK time anyway), we will very likely have the reveal of the next expansion for Final Fantasy XIV. Shadowbringers was, putting it lightly, an emotional rollercoaster and there’s arguments for it being one of the greatest Final Fantasy tales of all time. So, with thoughts turning to the next expansion, we sat down to think about where the game could go from here.
Quick note: there will be Shadowbringers and Final Fantasy XIV spoilers ahead. Those players who don’t follow the storyline can go ahead and skip the next paragraph.
Your February free time will come to an end with these five titles
January was a slow start for 2021. Sure, we had Hitman III kickstart the year on the right foot, but most of January was more or less catch-up month for a lot of people, a time where we played games we got for the holiday or the titles in our backlogs that have gathered dust for the last year. Keeping track of all the latest video games coming out is an increasingly complex task, what with multiple PC storefronts, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, mobile, and more to keep track of, but don’t worry, I’m here to help. Every month I ll be running down the games you need to be keeping an eye on, from the big triple-A headliners, to the intriguing indies you might otherwise overlook.
As is often the case, February is rather low on big AAA experiences, but there’s still plenty to look forward to this month, particularly if you’re searching for something to play on your Switch. Highlights include Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Bravely Default II, Little Nightmares 2, and the PS5-exclusive Destruction AllStars. On the indie front, you can look forward to the cute, yet challenging action-platformer Blue Fire, crazy retro mashup Speed Limit, and more.
