Brantford and Brant County set a weekly COVID-19 record following a surge that added 40 cases to the local tally over two days.
The numbers continued to climb on Monday, with the Brant County Health Unit reporting 18 new cases over the previous 24 hours.

That makes for 96 cases for the week ended Dec. 13, The previous local record for new COVID-19 cases was 66, reached for the week ended Nov. 22.
The additional positive results brings to 99 the number of local active cases.
