Greater Sudbury has lost another resident to an apparent homicide.
On Boxing Day, at about 2:20 p.m., the Greater Sudbury Police Service responded to the former International Hotel on Kathleen Street. It is now a 29-unit residence comprised of bachelor apartments.

Robert Keskinen, 75, was found deceased in his apartment. A source close to The Star said he had been beaten to death.
“When officers arrived on scene they discovered visible trauma to the body of the deceased and determined it to be a suspicious death,” the GSPS said in a release. “Detectives from our criminal investigation division, including members of our forensic unit and major crimes section, are conducting a thorough investigation into this matter. At this time, this incident is being investigated as a homicide.”

A Sudbury woman charged with murdering her estranged husband has been released on bail.
Melissa Sheridan, 39, was granted bail by Justice David Nadeau in a virtual hearing on Wednesday afternoon.
The evidence presented before the court is covered by a publication ban.
The judge described the conditions of the release as extremely restrictive including the requirement that Sheridan wear an electronic monitoring device while she awaits trial.

A Greater Sudbury woman co-charged in the shooting death of her estranged husband in the Killarney area in late October is seeking bail.
Melissa Sheridan is scheduled to have a virtual special bail hearing at the Superior Court level Wednesday afternoon.
