MoveVU launches shared electronic bike initiative

Vanderbilt recently partnered with Spin, an electronic bike and scooter sharing company, to provide shared e-bikes to Vanderbilt students, faculty and staff at a per-minute fee.  Riders are charged with a $1 unlock fee and, at the end of their ride, they incur per-minute fees of $0.59. Failure to comply with this requirement may result.

Branscomb, Chaffin, McGill residents experience AC unit water leaks

Residents of Branscomb Quadrangle, Chaffin Place and McGill Hall reported water leaking through ceiling tiles during heavy rain in late August.   The Office of Housing and Residential Experience advised students to submit a request in ReADY to report AC and other maintenance issues. It pointed to temperature changes as the potential cause of the leaks..

Vanderbilt implements new Tree Replacement Policy as part of FutureVU

The university’s new Tree Replacement Policy requires campus planners to replace on-campus trees that are removed during construction.  This policy comes after the fall of the Bicentennial Oak in November 2022, a tree that predated the university’s founding. Severe weather during a March 2023 storm also left 21 trees dead and an additional 12 damaged.
