Lindale Village, a 7-acre retirement community planned for 20 Beale Drive in Parkesburg, Chester County, will still be developed in Parkesburg, but under new ownership.
Parkesburg Borough Council is exploring an idea from the Chester County Department of Community Development to turn the historic Parkesburg Arms Hotel at 415 W. First Ave. into a short-term rehabilitation shelter to assist up to 40 homeless county citizens.
Council President Sharon Wolf and Borough Manager Joe Reali said they recently met with Pat Bokovitz, director of the development department, and representatives from the agency Resources for Human Development, who are interested in renting the vacant historic hotel from owner Fred Gunther.
âIâm not opposed to it, but I have lots of questions,â council member Todd Brade said during the remote meeting.
Brandywine Valley SPCA to hold Holiday Sleepovers
Delaware News Desk
The Brandywine Valley Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is seeking fosters as part of its third annual Holiday Sleepovers.
This year’s sleepovers will focus on finding foster families to welcome the shelter’s most overlooked dogs into their homes over the holidays. While the dogs are in foster care, the BVSPCA hopes to get insight, photos and videos that will help them find forever families for the dogs after the foster period.
The BVSPCA has prioritized dogs at each campus that could benefit; the campuses include Georgetown, Dover and New Castle in Delaware and West Chester in Pennsylvania.
