In an effort to address the ongoing obstacles the Crawford County Emergency Medical Services (CCEMS) has when collecting outstanding payments, Jill Warford, CCEMS billing supervisor, and Randy Sandberg, CCEMS director, had a meeting with county commissioners Friday morning.
Crawford County Emergency Medical Service (CCEMS) had a record year in 2022 with more than 5,000 calls as of midnight, Jan. 1, and only three active crews per shift. According to EMS Director Randy Sandberg, he needs at least four crews per shift to handle such a large number of calls, but EMS is critically short-staffed.
In an early morning work session Friday, Crawford County EMS Director Randy Sandberg and Medical Director Tim Stebbins met with county commissioners to discuss manpower shortages and an increase in call volume.
