District to receive $900,000 in American Rescue Plan funds North Crawford
NORTH CRAWFORD - Superintendent Brandon Munson informed members of the North Crawford School Board that the district expects to receive about $900,000 more in COVID relief funding. This brings the total coming to the district from the three COVID relief bills to a total of about $1.5 million.
These latest of the funds will come to the district as part of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan passed by the U.S. Congress earlier this month. The funds are part of a program known as ‘ESSER,’ which stands for ‘Elementary & Secondary School Emergency Relief’ as part of the ‘Education Stabilization Fund.’ This round of funding is referred to as ‘ESSER III.’
NORTH CRAWFORD - At a special board meeting held on Monday, March 1, the North Crawford School Board voted to return all district students to five-day-per-week, in-person instruction in March.
School board rejects all-virtual in favor of hybrid model North Crawford
NORTH CRAWFORD - The North Crawford School Board had students in full virtual instruction for two weeks following the Thanksgiving break. The decision was based on high case counts from community spread in the county, and the fear that if families held large in-person celebrations, there could be a post-holiday spike.
It seems that county residents can breathe a cautious sigh of relief, as growth in new cases has seemed to slow in recent weeks. For this reason, the board voted to resume their hybrid instruction model from December 14-23, and then again following the holiday break, on Monday, Jan. 4. The decisions, however, were not unanimous.
