DeKALB The DeKalb Township is starting a program to help local renters this spring. The township has two relief programs in place to aid residents, the “General Assistance” and “Emergency Assistance” programs.
“General assistance is a monthly assistance geared toward individuals with no children.” Erika Brown, DeKalb Township case manager said. “The emergency assistance is a one-time grant that must be paid to a vendor, which is a landlord or utility company.”
Eligibility for either program is determined by several factors and will be decided within 30-45 days of the application. Qualifications such as residency, income, assets and cooperation with the program are some of the characteristics needed Brown said.

This increase in consumption put an emphasis on streaming services and weekly T.V., according to Nielsen Global Media. From streamable shows like “WandaVision” and “The Mandalorian,” re-watchable favorites like “Game of Thrones” and “The Office” to weekly television like “Saturday Night Live,” it’s safe to say T.V. shows have been in high demand.

With President’s Day coming up, and during an era of charged political conversation over current U.S. Presidents, New York singer songwriter, David W. Jacobsen has his eyes fixed on past leaders in his latest release “POTUS.” As the name implies, this neo-folk album takes a humorous and satirical approach, shining a light on often overlooked, and at times maligned, American presidents.
Released on Oct. 1, “POTUS” tells the stories of 11 former single term presidents with the intent of combining “history with storytelling,” to provide “a humanized view of men who have guided America for better or worse (more often worse),” Jacobsen said on the website synopsis of the album.
