Organisers of the Tunes By the Dunes music festival at Dunnet are making arrangements for this year s event in the hope that Covid-19 restrictions will have eased sufficiently to let it go ahead.
They say it would give local people something to look forward to as well as being an opportunity to showcase the area, but accept that government guidelines will determine whether it can take place.

A festive single by Caithness entertainer Brandon McPhee has been riding high in an Australian country music chart for over a month.
The Wick-based accordionist and singer spent two weeks at number one in the Tasmania and OZCMR Top 40 Country Chart with the single How Do I Wrap My Heart Up for Christmas?

A special Hogmanay tune performed by a local musician has proved a big hit on social media with over 15,000 views and hundreds of likes and shares.
Nancy Foggo s rendition of the popular Caithness song â Over the Ord â went down a treat with folk both at home and abroad.
The singer, who has been keeping the spirits of the Dunnet community up with regular tunes since the first lockdown, has been absolutely overwhelmed by the response to her Hogmanay performance.

With many venues closed due to Covid restrictions it was a breath of fresh air for many to attend a special outdoor screening of a newly commissioned festive film in the car park of Lyth Arts Centre (LAC).
Despite the arts venue being closed over the last few months, there has been a hive of activity going on in the background that recently culminated in a short film being produced â Caithness through your Windscreen.

Brandon is delighted after topping Australian country charts
A musician from Caithness is feeling on top of the world after hitting the top spot in an Australian country music chart.
Brandon McPhee has been number one in the Tasmania and OZCMR Top 40 Country Chart, for the past two weeks. He had been in second spot.
Brandon, who is 24 and comes from Castletown, is delighted with his success as he has not had a track in the charts for four weeks before.
