The Christian County sheriff says Brandon Estes, 36, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital in Taylorville, after another car hit his head-on at Route 48 and County Road 2175 North, a couple of miles northeast of Stonington Saturday afternoon. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle – Brandon Jack and Marissa Millman, both 22 of Taylorville – were seriously hurt and taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital. The sheriff says Jack crossed the center line of Route 48, and Estes unsuccessfully tries to get out of the way. The crash remains under investigation.
