Brandon Police Service are asking for the public’s help in locating several individuals connected to a violent assault that took place in the 800 block of First Street on March 14.

Brandon Police Service are asking for the public’s help in locating several individuals connected to a violent assault that took place in the 800 block of First Street on March 14.
At approximately 3 a.m., BPS officials said a man was attacked by a number of assailants, who then stole the victim’s backpack and running shoes.
The victim sustained multiple injuries as a result of this assault and was transported to the Brandon Regional Health Centre for treatment. He was eventually released from the hospital.
TOBACCO SEIZURE TOBACCO SEIZURE
Following a six-week joint agency investigation involving the Manitoba Finance Taxation Special Services Investigations Unit and Brandon Police Service Major Crime Section, a significant quantity of illegal tobacco was seized.
The investigation revealed that a group of Manitoba residents were smuggling the tobacco into the province.
On April 23, 2021, members intercepted a shipment of illicit cigarettes in the RM of Whitehead. Five males were taken into custody. Three vehicles and three trailers were seized and warrants to search these vehicles were acted on April 27, 2021.
92 cases of unmarked contraband tobacco cigarettes were seized. Within each case are 10,000 cigarettes. Also seized was over 53 pounds of illicit marihuana and over $25,000 in cash.

Draper is charged with failing to comply with release orders.

On March 17, police say officers conducted a curfew check on Draper as he was bound by a court order to live there.
Police say the accused was evicted and failed to notify police or get court permission to live somewhere else.
A warrant has also been issued for his arrest.

Police investigating break-in

Brandon police are investigating a March 28 break-in.
A homeowner on Grasslands Crescent reported their attached garage had been broken into, according to police. The suspect took an adult Trek brand bicycle, a child’s Giant brand bicycle, loose change and some sunglasses.
Police say the suspect used the garage door opener stored inside a parked truck to gain entry.

Nelson is charged with theft of mail, break and enter and break and enter with intent.

Between Dec. 6 and Dec. 7, two buildings were broken into and mail was stolen, police say. Warrants were issued for Nelson’s arrest.
