The popular beer garden in NoMa has also benefited from pandemic-instituted measures such as contactless ordering, which saves patrons from the stress of having to move around or wait in line. “We have performed better than expected in light of the closing measures in the pandemic,” says Brandon Bayton, Wunder Garten’s director of development. In addition to its outdoor setting, Bayton also attributes success to the venue’s function as “a key focal point for the neighborhood” and to its reputation as a place that “values diversity,” endeavoring to “make sure that our staff is diverse [and] that we’re welcoming to everyone.”
