On Friday, January 15, 2021, a Newton County Sheriff s Deputy was pursing suspects after they fled from a traffic stop. The suspects disappeared on foot south of Bon Wier.
Tueday, January 19, 2021, Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby said the female suspect has been taken into custody, but the male suspect remains at large.
The female, Brandie Clark, was already wanted for motion to revoke probation on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance. Burby said his department has now filed on her for tampering or fabricating physical evidence. Her bond is set at a combined total of $25,000.00.
The male was identified as Roy Caldwell. He is named in a warrant for evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle.
