Some health care providers in South Carolina are seeing demand for the COVID-19 vaccine on the decline. One Upstate hospital has been left with numerous open vaccine appointments recently, unlike being fully booked just a few weeks ago. According to SCDHEC, 26.7% of South Carolinians are fully vaccinated and 39.5% of residents have had at least one vaccine. “That’s not where we want to be yet, so we’re trying to encourage and make people feel a little bit more comfortable with the vaccine,” Bon Secours COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Manager Brandi Giles said.Giles says the hospital just launched an online scheduling program to make the vaccine sign-up process easier.She says they expected demand to plateau eventually, it just wasn t sure when that would happen.“I think we’ve made that tipping point of finding the vaccines for those who really want it, to now we’re trying to find people to fill the vaccines we have,” she said.Giles says they re actually left with extra s
