Altrusa International of Branch County was recently honored with the Distinguished Club Award from District Five Altrusa. It recognizes clubs that demonstrate a high degree of excellence based on a set of guidelines developed by Altrusa International.
The list includes leadership in the community, community service, scholarships, leadership development, sponsorship of an ASTRA Club, fund-raising, budget management, attendance, a club newsletter and yearbook. Branch County Altrusa has received this award on several occasions over the years, said Jan Storrs, club member.
Altrusa International of Branch County is a part of a 104 years old organization with 307 clubs in 14 districts and eight countries with 7,086 members. District Five has 620 members in 25 clubs from Michigan and Ohio.
