KEMPTVILLE – The nearly 200 largely maskless revellers who gathered at the South Branch Bistro here for a “mask burning party” Thursday are likely to face serious repercussion for their actions, officials say.
“My full expectation, given that bylaw, public health, LCBO and OPP were there documenting the event, is that charges will be laid,” said North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford.

The mayor was angry and disappointed that such an event was taking place in her community, given the municipality’s efforts to support local businesses, financially and otherwise.
