Shortland Street actor Michael Galvin had an unusual end to last year. With questions about his future on the programme up in the air, the actor got in an ambulance and drove around Auckland meting “serious Shorty fans”.

a summer segment about the programme in which he met with some of the soap’s biggest fans and recapped the year that had been for Ferndale. The initial idea was to have Galvin go on a roadie to meet fans, but he says he’s not much of a driver and luckily the fans were more than willing to fly to him.
