CNY Community Foundation announces more than $500,000 for local organizations

A free and family-friendly outdoor game night gathered about 50 people on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, to celebrate the addition of four new permanent chess tables in Hanover Square. The Downtown Committee of Syracuse received a $8,125 grant from the Central New York Community Foundation to purchase and install the tables in the Square. Syracuse, N.Y. The Central New York Community Foundation is giving more than $500,000 to 19 different community organizations to help with missions ranging from workforce development to reading lessons aimed at shoring up skills lost in the pandemic.
