Cllr Toby Savage Column by the leader of South Gloucestershire Council, Toby Savage. Following the Government’s decision to delay the further easing of Covid-19 restrictions until 19 July, I would like to encourage everyone over the age of 16 to take rapid Covid-19 tests twice a week. Regular testing helps stop the virus from spreading by identifying cases among people who do not have symptoms and could unknowingly be spreading it. Our Director of Public Health, Sara Blackmore, advises that there are three key things we can all do to help reach the next stage of easing as soon as possible:
South Gloucestershire Council send out bright pink covid testing van gazetteseries.co.uk - get the latest breaking news, showbiz & celebrity photos, sport news & rumours, viral videos and top stories from gazetteseries.co.uk Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday newspapers.
Rapid âpop upâ Covid test hubs to open in Portishead and Bradley Stoke
Community lateral flow testing is used to find people who have Covid-19 with no symptoms.

Rapid coronavirus testing is to be rolled out across the Bristol region - with new test units opening in Portishead and Bradley Stoke.
South Gloucestershire Council Offices Groups of South Gloucestershire residents will be able to get rapid Covid-19 tests from next week as the council extends its community testing. Anyone living or working in South Gloucestershire will be able to get access to the tests with critical workers and volunteers in roles which bring them into contact with the community being prioritised with the offer of weekly slots. The aim is to offer this opportunity to those who cannot work from home in the current lockdown as they deliver key services like childcare, transport, essential shopping, and looking after vulnerable people. Rapid Testing (also known as community testing) to find residents who have Covid-19 who are not symptomatic is helpful as those people can then isolate and prevent the virus from spreading.
