A judge Thursday dismissed the city of Charlotte from a lawsuit alleging Title IX violations at Myers Park High School, but said the case against Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will go to the jury.
A former school resource officer at Charlotte's Myers Park High was the responding officer in reports of sexual assault that led to six arrests, according to court documents. The officer had been accused in a lawsuit of downplaying reports of sexual assualt. The school's handling of sexual assault accusations has been a major story in Charlotte over the last year.
