Hardesty’s candidacy stands

The Allen County Board of Elections on Wednesday upheld the candidacy of Elizabeth Hardesty, 40, who is seeking election as mayor of Lima. A complaint that alleged Hardesty was not a citizen of the city was rejected by the board in a 3-1 vote.

Brad Leroi Willis, age 51, of Leesville, was arrested and charged with one count of Unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, one count of Criminal Trespassing, and one count of Obscenity. Bond was set at $58,795.00. Willis remains in the VPSO jail.

Crystal Lynn Mitchell, age 50, of Hempstead, Arkansas, was arrested by Agents with the Vernon Parish Narcotics Task Force following a traffic stop at Highway 171 and Jeane Chapel Extenstion. Agents charged Mitchell with one count of Driving on a roadway laned for traffic, one count of Operating a vehicle while license is suspended, one count of Possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic (Methamphetamine), and one count of Obstruction of Justice. Bond was set at $22,031.00. Mitchell remains in the VPSO jail.
