Murder of Steroid King Brian Wainstein: ugliness of the underworld unravels

Cape Town â The group of 15 men, including key underworld figures appeared in the Cape Town Magistrateâs Court on Wednesday on a range of crimes including the murder of steroid king, Brian Wainstein.
Alleged underworld kingpin Mark Lifman, alleged underworld kingpin and leader of the Sexy Boys gang, Jerome âDonkieâ Booysen, alleged underworld kingpin Andre Naude, Samuel Farquharson, Jakobus Stevens, Egan Norman, Wayne Henderson, Anthony Amier van der Watt, Ricardo Maarman, Typhyenne Jantjies, Bevan Cedric Ezaus, Bradley De Bula, Kashief Hanslo, Rowendal Stevens, and Ismail Cupido were served with an indictment by the state and face 38 charges against them.

A seventeenth person alleged to have wrought terror as part of Cape Town’s nightclub turf war appeared in court on Tuesday, after he was found to be living in alleged underworld boss Mark Lifman’s Sea Point Hotel 303.
Ismail Cupido faces two counts of contravention of the Prevention of Organised Crimes Act, a piece of legislature which could see him and his co-accused face long prison sentences for the separate roles they played in the “27 criminal gang’s alleged violent takeover of Cape Town’s lucrative nightclub security industry through extortion and intimidation.
Eight men linked to murder of âsteroid kingâ arrested and granted R5 000 bail

Cape Town â The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) has managed to arrest a further eight people, alleged to be part of the 27s gang, in connection with the murder of âsteroid kingâ Brian Wainstein.
This brings the number of suspects in this matter to 16.
In a statement, Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale said the eight men were arrested on Wednesday morning, while five others were arrested on Tuesday.
Mogale said the arrest included a Sea Point police officer.
Wainstein was murdered at his Constantia, Cape Town, home in August 2017 while asleep next to his child and spouse.
