The Malden Education Association president has announced teachers will strike on Monday just hours after the Haverhill School Committee canceled classes in anticipation of its own teachers strike.
Classrooms were dark in Haverhill and Malden on Monday, but negotiations between the teachers unions and school committees in both communities continue.
