A planned solar farm near Yeovil will become a dystopian scar on countryside and an industrial wasteland , according to one local who objected to the proposal.
Dorset Council recently gave the green light to plans for a gigantic 120-acre solar farm which will span seven fields at Clifton Maybank near Bradford Abbas.
The project will be able to generate 35MW of electricity a year, enough to power 10,600 homes, according to planning documents.

A huge 120 acre sea of solar panels is set to be built near Yeovil after planning permission was approved for the project.
The green light has been given to the gigantic solar farm which will span seven fields at Clifton Maybank near Bradford Abbas.
The project will be able to generate 35MW of electricity a year, enough to power 10,600 homes.
Dorset Council recently granted planning permission to Voltalia Ltd for the 55 hectare site at Clifton Farm, which planners say will be screened on its north west boundary by Clifton Wood with tree belts around the eastern and southern boundaries of the site.
