SUNDAY PUZZLE Our constructor today, Brad Wiegmann, is brand-new, a babe in the woods, an innocent lamb. Mr. Wiegmann embarked on his dream of making a crossword over a year ago, while on vacation from his job as a national security lawyer for the United States Department of Justice. Make of that what you will.
In his introduction to the print puzzle, Will Shortz (possibly channeling his inner Randy Newman) suggests that solvers put on their “silly puns” hats before they begin. You will need your thinking cap, too, because we have widespread trivia, some of it ornately clued, some unadorned but challenging.
