HENDERSON, Ky. City commissioners acknowledge Big Rivers purchase offer for Henderson Municipal Power & Light would provide an attractive cash infusion to the city.
Big Rivers has renewed its offer from October to buy the city-owned utility for $90 million and an additional $2.5 million in annual franchise fees paid to the city.
However, another consideration, walking back Big Rivers decision to move its company headquarters to Owensboro, appears to be off the table for discussion.
Big Rivers purchase offer is essentially the same offer that was on the table in November when the utility company announced it was moving its corporate headquarters and 120 employees east to the neighboring city of Owensboro.
