This truck belonged to Silas Hall s Transfer Line just after World War I. It was used for hauling freight from the NP (Northern Pacific Railroad) depot to stores around town as well as for other kinds of moving. The picture was taken in front of the railroad freight office. Before the truck, Silas Hal used teams of horses and wagons which he kept at 415 Main (now Washington Street). There s not a lot of sense behind what happened in a park in Denver, Colorado, three and a half weeks ago, but somehow 2012 Pequot Lakes High School graduate Austin Nelson still remembers the event in eerie detail. My partner and I were walking in the Civic Park in downtown Denver, Nelson said of the Saturday, Jan. 30, incident. That s when we heard a car hit the curb and the sound of acceleration.
