AMERICAN FORK American Fork councilwoman Barbara Christiansen died at age 74 on Friday from ongoing health conditions, city officials said.
Christiansen was a resident of American Fork for 43 years and was an acting member of the American Fork City council. She took office as a council member in January 2018 and helped improved the communication efforts of the city, according to a press release, including a monthly report titled Citizens Want to Know. Christiansen was also credited for her work on the city s rebranding, completion of a regional park and infrastructure and zoning improvements.
American Fork s mayor and City Council offered their deepest sorrow and sympathy for her loss, officials said.

A Utah lawmaker is considering legislation to create a new Utah Lake Authority that would have broad authority over the management, cleanup and future use of the stateâs largest freshwater lake.
Rep. Brady Brammer, R-Pleasant Grove, is sponsoring the legislation, which has not yet been numbered or made public.
