Those words were true when Thomas Jefferson wrote them in 1786 and theyre still true today. First amendment guarantees freedom of the press and prohibits the government from making any law to that freedom. Just hugo black stated, the Founding Fathers gave the press the role. The press was to serve the governed, not the governors. And the hale to the freedom of the press is the keystone upon which all
