Conviction upheld for man accused of trying to kill his wife during domestic dispute, chase

From staff reports A man found guilty of the attempted first-degree murder of his wife has had his conviction upheld by the N.C. Court of Appeals after judges ruled that no error had been made in his trial. Paul Killian, 60 at the time of his conviction in May 2019, was charged with attempted first-degree murder after a domestic dispute that began when he asked his wife about the status of their relationship. Killian and his wife were separated at the time, and his wife suspected he was addicted to pain medication, court records show.  On Dec. 15, 2017, after an argument at a business off Fanning Fields Road in Mills River, police said Killian began chasing his wife in her vehicle down Boylston Highway, ramming the car and firing shots at her.
