CANNONSBURG Boyd County Clerk Kevin Johnston said his staff has fielded daily calls inquiring about when the officeâs new branch would open.
Ask no more.
A giant scissors-wielding Johnston cut the ribbon during an open-house ceremony conducted by Ashland Alliance on Wednesday afternoon at the new Cannonsburg branch of the Boyd County Clerkâs Office, signifying its official unveiling. The office will be open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the first and last Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. The locationâs phone number is (606)â929-9595.
The branch is housed in the Members Choice Credit Union at 1315 Cannonsburg Road in front of Hampton Inn and Walmart â and across from Super Quik. The entrance is at the front of the building, facing U.S. 60.
CATLETTSBURG The Cannonsburg branch of the Boyd County Clerkâs Office is open, Clerk Kevin Johnston told the Fiscal Court Tuesday.
Johnston told Judge-Executive Eric Chaney and commissioners Keith Watts, Larry Brown and Randy Stapleton the branch opened Monday in the same building as the Members Choice Credit Union, located on U.S. 60 in the parking lot of the Cannonsburg Walmart.
The new branch, a replacement for the now closed KYOVA mall satellite, will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will also be open from 9 a.m. to noon on the first and last Saturdays of the month.
CATLETTSBURG
Both the Catlettsburg and Ashland branches of the Boyd County Clerkâs Office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The offices will also be closed on New Yearâs Eve and New Yearâs Day, next Thursday and Friday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has awarded a $6 million contract to improve Carol Malone Boulevard (Ky. 7/Ky. 1) in Grayson.
The project will include wider travel lanes, new turn lanes, and other work to reduce congestion, improve traffic flow and enhance safety along 1 1/2 miles of the four-lane state highway from Academic Parkway to the Little Sandy River.
