that got the green light, and over time that has led to a reliance on the big blockbuster franchises to keep cinemas afloat. time is running out. box office takings are well down so far this year, less than 90 million was made in the four weeks to the 12th of september. over the same period in 2019, you would be looking at over 125 million. the industry believes it is staring at a £2 billion coronavirus hole in its finances. the pandemic has had an impact on the number of films being made but also the type of movies we will be seeing more of in the future. we are actually going to see a lot of films that were made during the pandemic, so you have got horror movies, you have got indie movies, very kind of two handed dramas, so that is really interesting. obviously people will be thinking about streaming as much as the big screen as well because really now a lot of people are going to be taking their movies onto the small screen faster than they did before.
