Developing right now in Maryland State Police are working to find out why a man was on i270 when he was hit and killed this morning. Meg ap mc Megan Mcgrath is there. Reporter a tractor trarl hit the man. The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with police. The pedestrian died though and the question is what was this man doing in the middle of the road. He was actually in a lachb traffic on southbound 270 by father hurley exit. Traffic has gotten back to normal here. All of the lanes are open. But
Adult, was in lane three of traffic right around 1 30 this morning when he was struck. There were three lanes of traffic closed during the investigation early this morning. Now, the driver of the tractor trailer did remain on the scene. There was a car were told by police in the area but it was not registered to the man who was killed in this. So theyre not sure whether he was associated with that vehicle, whether there was a breakdown situation or Something Like that and thats why he was along the road there in the lane of traffic there. Theyre still trying to piece all of that together and they have not yet released the mans name. In terms of traffic, things are looking okay right now, but were hearing about a new crash this morning that will affect some people. Well send it over to Melissa Mollet for more on that. Reporter in the more than 20 years that investigators have struggled to find amys killer two names keep coming up. I keep coming back to scott manley and Dominic Kanuika. Reporter one theory is that both men were involved. Did amy have something they wanted, money or drugs . What if scott came across dominic at some point and talked dominic into doing this . Theyre both having this addiction to drugs. Theyre both needing money. Reporter remember, Dominic Kanuika places himself at the scene, and investigators have wondered if the plan was for kaunika to break into the house while scott manley drove the getaway car. Did dominic get dropped off by scott manley, and then scott was going to circle around and pick him back up . Reporter when bunny and bob came home from church early, the plan may have fallen apart. Could manley have abandoned kanuika, leaving him in the lurch . That would fit with the lehtons description of the masked intruder. He seemed nervous. He was just pacing the room.

BOWIE, MD After taking a year off because of COVID-19 precautions, athletes, residents, and members of the Bowie Police Department gathered Wednesday morning to support the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics.
