THE LAST POST FOR A GRAND OLD LADY - THE WESTON HOUSE IS DEMOLISHED 20 JULY 2011 On Septemer 4, 2010 the City of Christchurch and the Canterbury Plains were hit by an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 on the Richter Scale. The Weston House survived - damaged but repairable. We were overseas in Europe on that day but returned immediately to oversee repairs to our beautiful home. Our family was safe and so were we. However TWH suffered from the many aftershocks and the three major and ( according to GNS NZ ) separate events that followed resulted in terminal and irrepairable damage. Those major events occurred on 26 December 2010, 22 February 2011 and 13 June 2011 .
