A MAN has admitted to being in possession of thousands of indecent images of children and numerous ‘upskirting’ offences. Keith Mehers, of Maple Way, Gillingham, admitted to being in possession of 2,257 indecent images of children and 30 prohibited images of children. He also admitted to 24 occasions of ‘upskirting’ and being in possession of an extreme pornographic video, which portrayed, in an explicit and realistic way, a person performing an act of intercourse with a pig. The 43-year-old pleaded guilty at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday June 6 and was represented by Patricia Sheehan. Mehers was found to be in possession of 333 counts of category A indecent images of children, which are rated the most serious - 41 of which are videos. He also possessed 804 counts of category B indecent images, 52 of which were videos, and 1120 counts of category C images, 31 of which were videos – on January 11, this year.

Police were called to the Christchurch Road fast food restaurant at 10.14pm on Friday May 7 to a report of a man with machete. It is claimed that two men were in the restaurant when they were approached by a group of men. An altercation is said to have taken place involving the two groups, before they dispersed and left the area. There were no reports of any injuries sustained.
