A new farmers market is headed to Houma s Downtown Marina starting this Saturday A new farmers market focusing on healthy eating will open Saturday in Houma. Market at the Marina is a cooperative program by Terrebonne General Health System and the Houma Downtown Development Corporation. The market, at Houma s Downtown Marina, 8228 Park Ave., will be open from 8 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of each month. Admission is free. The market boasts 16 vendors selling all kinds of wares, including fresh produce and even dog treats. The idea sprang from the hospital s annual Community Health Needs Assessment and the high rates of health issues in the area, Terrebonne General Wellness Specialist Jessica Ryan said.
