CLINTON TWP. â A state Department of Transportation (DOT) intersection upgrade is going to need more upgrading, according to township officials and residents.
The Township Council met about 24 hours after the new and improved Route 22 intersection at Blossom Hill Road opened, and a number of residents called into Wednesday, Dec. 9, virtual meeting to complain that in their opinion, the DOT made things worse.
Blossom Hill was the first large development in Clinton Township, former Mayor Nick Corcodilos said in an interview after the meeting. It dates from the mid-1960s. There is one access to busy Route 22. Traffic in the westbound lanes turns right to enter the development. Eastbound traffic must turn left at a median cut. In addition, there is cross traffic because Blossom Hill Road on the East is a tiny stretch of road that leads into Lebanon Borough, although there are other points of access into that municipality.
