A grass fire in Victoria s far north-west near the Murray River has been brought under control after forcing the evacuation of campers and burning more than 17 hectares on Sunday.
The bushfire was burning seven kilometres south-west of Robinvale, 90 kilometres south-east of Mildura, and travelling in a north-easterly direction at Gadsen Bend in the proposed Murray River Park on Monday morning.
However, it was officially declared under control by Forest Fire Management at about 9.40am on Monday.
While residents of Gadsen Bend, Happy Valley and Robinvale were told on Monday there was no immediate threat to them from the grass fire, VicEmergency said they should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
