The Botswana energy regulator has granted a generation licence for a 100MW solar project to local firm Shumba Energy, a company executive said on Monday, making it the first independent power producer to set up a large scale solar plant in the country.

Thank you. I would rather stick with Botswana. We have previously enjoyed
South Africa but prefer Botswana. Our original flight back to JNB was from Livingstone but the airline changed it to VFA. I fell in love with Botswana when we have visited and am excited to share it with friends who have not been anywhere in Africa before.
Also, we will be traveling with a gentleman with a Cuban passport and he is not able to leave the transit area of JNB. Thank you, Cherie

Namibia/Botswana: ReconAfrica preparing to drill the deep Kavango Basin

Reconnaissance Energy Africa (ReconAfrica) has provided an operations update as the Company prepares to drill the deep
Kavango Basin in the Kalahari Desert of North East Namibia and North West Botswana.
Operations
The well-site for the first well (6-2) in the Kavango basin and the associated camp were completed, on schedule, in mid-December.
Utilizing a smaller local rig, the initial leg of the well-bore has been drilled, with the first casing string set and cemented.
The Company owned Crown 1,000 HP drilling rig (Jarvie-1), along with ancillary equipment and spare parts, were successfully shipped from the Port of Houston and arrived on schedule, in the Port of Walvis Bay December 11 2020. The majority of drilling equipment has now arrived on the 6-2 well site.
