15. as of now it s 15. that could change if what we expect to happen happens next week. jim. the x law shorter than that. a shorter time like six weeks. how does that affect thing sns. that temporary restraining order is only in place until july 12th. some abortion clinics were able to resume those procedures, at least for now. that s put some especially since attorney general paxton has put district attorneys in a difficult position. one said he s not moved forward with prosecuting any of these cases because of the tro that s in place but after that expires, then he office will have to make some very difficult decisions. he will be balancing what he legally has to do and also what he is morally obligated to do as well. ultimately, it will be up to his discretion to decide whether or not cases get prosecuted but
actually get an abortion. in terms of the cdc numbers from 2019, roughly 72,000 abortions were reported in the state of florida. so caught in the middle right now are those women that are left asking, is it 15 weeks or 24 weeks. we re going to have to find out exactly what happens next. but as of today, the law that was signed by desantis in april kicked in making it illegal after 15 weeks, with exceptions. it s confusing in lots of states across the country. we talked about florida, ohio. tell me about kentucky and texas. two states where we ve seen the stays put in place, at least temporarily. texas, for example, that temporary restraining order is only in place until the 12th of july, so essentially what you re seeing is some texas clinics being allowed to carry out some of these procedures. it s still going to be complicated. i had an opportunity to speak to a district attorney in texas earlier this week that says when this tro expires, they re going to be left in a difficult p
