Disappointing Avocado Season Hits South Africa as Egypt Moves to Create Specialised Zone for Vegetables, Fruits
Chairperson of South Africa Avocado Growers Association, Clive Garrett, says the country’s avocado season has been disappointing.
This is coming as the Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade – in cooperation with French produce logistics company, Rungis International, is intent on establishing a specialised zone to manage the circulation of vegetables, fruits and all other such commodities in Alexandria’s Borg El Arab.
The zone will be 50 ha large; the investments needed will be around €100 million.
