In west-end Loyola district, Annalisa Harris was the first to announce a challenge to former Projet Montréal â and now independent councillor â Christian Arseneault. Montgomery s former chief of staff until stepping down to run for office, Harris has policy experience at various levels of government, including as a policy adviser to the Minister of CrownâIndigenous Relations. She has been a long-time volunteer for community groups and continues to be involved as a soccer coach for youth in N.D.G. and mentor for young leaders in sport and politics.

If 2020 was difficult for just about everyone, it was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad year for Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante â though it may have been difficult to tell, given her sunny disposition.
Thatâs what it was in large part because of the coronavirus pandemic, which landed in her lap with a thud in March. Montreal found itself at the epicentre of the contagion in Canada, which monopolized the third year of Planteâs mandate and derailed much of her agenda.
