(Bloomberg) The U.S. recorded the lowest daily number of new coronavirus infections since Oct. 25, before a holiday season surge sent case numbers soaring. The New York City subway system, meanwhile, is getting closer to resuming its 24-hour service on Feb. 22.

(Bloomberg) The U.S. recorded the lowest daily number of new coronavirus infections since Oct. 25, before a holiday season surge sent case numbers soaring. The New York City subway system, meanwhile, is getting closer to resuming its 24-hour service on Feb. 22.
Elsewhere, the massive storm that triggered blackouts across the central U.S. on Monday caused Harris County, Texas, where Houston in located, to rush to administer more than 8,000 doses of the Moderna Inc. vaccine after the facility where the shots were being stored lost power and the back-up generator failed.
The Biden administration is boosting vaccine shipments by 23% and doubling the number of shots distributed through pharmacies. U.S. cases and hospitalizations are dropping dramatically, suggesting that measures to interrupt transmission are working.
