Hence, the soldiers deployed in these two eastern provinces are mandated to be responsive in seeking solutions to problems and challenges faced by Papuan communities in their daily lives.
The soldiers are required to play the role of problem solvers for the local communities amid their central task to defend the country s territorial integrity and guard the safety of all Indonesians.

Working alongside villagers to dismantle the old Mahanaim Chapel was part of the task force s community services to assist army personnel to get closer to the village residents, the task force s commanding officer, First Lieutenant Bagus Dwi Hartanto, stated here on Monday.

The army personnel s community service reflected the Indonesian Military s (TNI s) care for improving the quality of education for children in Papua, Asy-Syifa Islamic Boarding School Principal K.POH Ach Sholeh said here Sunday. Building this Islamic boarding school is a positive response to meet the community s needs of religious teachings and education for members of young generation so that they become religious and smart, he said.
