on capitol hill expects the border security piece to be some sort of compromise that s not going to be, you know, a 2,000 mile wall. no one is really talking about a 2,000 mile wall at this point the white house and dhs is never talking about it. it was a wall of semantics to be perfectly honest. it was always symbolic during the campaign. and i think the reason the president continues to return to it over and over it was so symbolic to his base. the wall includes other things like just more intense law enforcement. you already hear lawmakers on capitol hill saying they want to include some of those provisions in as border security which traditionally doesn t deal with the interior and the way you enforce the laws there. what we re seeing in washington is a weird sort of parlor game
i actually agree with a lot of what president obama said yesterday. i worked for president bush in 2005 and 2006 he tried to work with senator kennedy and mccain that every person says you have to do everything at once. you have to do the border security piece and deal with the 11 million and i m sure it s more than that people that are already here and you have to deal with the employers. then senator obama was nowhere to be found when senator kennedy was rounding up democrats to support the effort to do the comprehensive piece. i think a lot of republicans are enthused about the prospect of a jeb bush run, in part, because of his enlightened ability to talk about this issue and because of his support for comprehensive immigration reform. if it s ever to be done and it represents the only way to actually deal with this problem in a real meaningful and way that would work, you would have to have someone that was strong enough to take on elements of their own party and you d have

issues so, let s go through some of them right now. immigration reform, which looks like there s something that house speaker john boehner and the president might be able to eventually reach an agreement on. are you ready when all the dust settles that agreement would allow millions of these illegal immigrants eventually to have what they call a pathway to citizenship? right. well, obviously, immigration is a big issue that faces the country. we ve been a history we have a history, a long history of legal immigration. later on this week, the republicans are going to be meeting. it s our annual gathering. and we re going to be talking more about these issues and the specifics as we move forward. but there is a desire in the house led by speaker boehner to take action to fix what is a broken immigration system. we recognize that as a country. the house believes that we should take it in a step-by-step approach. and you ve seen the joo dish committee been working on different pieces o
