BassFan Senior Editor Andy Newcomb s runner-up finish at the Lake of the Ozarks Plains Division Toyota Series event in early March was his best to that point at the triple-A level. A few weeks later, he did himself one better on the same circuit at Grand Lake.
The 33-year-old from Camdenton, Mo. took top honors at Grand with a three-day total of 52-13, eclipsing 2nd-place finisher Chris M. Jones by 11 ounces. The Top 10 had begun the final day separated by only about 4 pounds and when he arrived at the weigh-in, he didn t think his 15-11 bag would be sufficient to garner him the trophy.

Jason Christie averaged just under 11 pounds per day en route to victory at the Sabine River Bassmaster Elite Series.
By B.A.S.S. Communications Staff Sticking with a bold plan, but making key adjustments was the winning formula for Jason Christie, whose four-day total of 43-15 topped the field at the Sabine River Bassmaster Elite Series in Orange, Texas.
Claiming his sixth Bassmaster victory, Christie posted his best effort on day 1 with a 2nd-place limit of 15-01. He took over the top spot on Friday by adding 13-14 and held that position on day 3 with a limit of 6-12. He closed the deal with a final-round limit that weighed 8-04.
