It has been a year of celebration at The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor. Twenty years ago on Sept. 29, 2003, the nonprofit of the same name purchased the 1894 building for $1.2 million from John and Sarah Abbe. Almost half of that price was raised.

The owners of Barters Island Bees – Denny and Donna Denniston - will be speaking Sept. 13 at approximately 1:30 p.m. at the Boothbay Garden Club’s monthly members meeting. They will discuss, among other topics, how their operation addresses two.

Southport approves veterans banner proposal

The Charles E. Sherman American Legion Post 36 in Boothbay is on a mission to honor local veterans dating back to World War II. The post is working on a project which would display large posters of servicemen in prominent locations in all four.
